Both vinyl wrap and paint protection film (PPF) go on top of your factory paint, but they serve fundamentally different purposes. Here's how to decide which one - or which combination - is right for you.

Car Wrap Vinyl: Built for Color Change
Vinyl wrap is designed primarily to change your car's color or add graphics, and is fully reversible without damaging the factory paint underneath. It typically lasts 3-7 years depending on climate and care.
PPF: Built for Protection
Paint protection film is a clear (or, increasingly, colored) urethane/TPU layer applied to protect the paint from rock chips, scratches, and general wear. Modern TPU-based PPF also includes self-healing properties for minor surface scuffs.
Can You Use Both?
Yes - many owners apply PPF to high-impact areas (front bumper, hood, mirrors) and then wrap the rest of the car, or apply a full-body clear PPF layer over the factory paint for maximum protection without changing the color at all.
Which Should You Choose?
- Want a new color or design? Go with vinyl wrap.
- Want to protect your factory paint from chips and scratches? Go with PPF.
- Want both protection and a color change? Consider color PPF, which combines the two.
