BMW X5 M F85 Carbon Fiber Replacement Rear Diffuser, 2015–2019

Carbon Fiber Replacement Rear Diffuser for BMW X5 M F85

Replace the factory plastic rear diffuser with a gloss carbon-fiber styling component for the listed X5 M F85 application. This is a lower rear bumper diffuser, not a complete rear bumper or a full body kit.

Vehicle Fitment

• Source-listed model: BMW X5 M F85.
• Body style: 4-door Sport Utility.
• Years listed: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
• Required configuration: original X5 M bodywork and matching factory rear bumper.
• Not for BMW X5 Base or M Sport models.

Verify VIN, production date, regional model year and the actual F85 bumper before ordering, particularly for the source-listed 2019 endpoint. A registration year alone does not establish chassis or bumper compatibility. Check exhaust outlet spacing, mounting tabs and lower bumper contour against the supplied part.

Existing hidden fitment entries include 2014 F85 and F86 X6 M applications, but these are not supported by the detailed product fitment. Do not extend the application to 2014, X6 M F86, later X5 M generations, special editions or conversion bumpers solely from search tags. Edition Black Fire and other configuration-specific differences require verification.

Hands-Free Tailgate Warning

If the vehicle has a rear hands-free tailgate sensor, installation may obstruct the sensor and affect its operation. Confirm sensor location and compatibility before purchase. Unchanged hands-free operation is not guaranteed, and a sensor relocation kit or solution is not listed as included.

Material and Finish

• Specified material: genuine 3×3 weave carbon fiber.
• Gloss finish with a double-layer UV-protected clear coating.

Dry-carbon construction, laminate composition, curing method and measured component weight are not specified. UV-protected coating is not a promise of permanent resistance to fading or discoloration. No test data is supplied to establish aerodynamic, handling or fuel-economy improvements.

Package and Mounting

• Replacement-style rear bumper diffuser; exact molded piece count is not itemized.
• Self-tapping screws are listed as included; quantity is not specified.

The source describes removal of the factory plastic diffuser and installation of this replacement. Tape, additional clips, brackets, exhaust tips, reflectors, lights and separate bumper splitters are not listed as included. Confirm whether original clips or fasteners must be reused.

Installation Guidance

Professional installation is recommended. Inspect and test-fit before drilling or making permanent changes. Confirm the replacement retention points and exhaust clearances before removing the original diffuser. Do not assume a universal unbolt-and-refit procedure or force the part onto mismatched bumper contours.

Although the source describes installation without modification, self-tapping screws are specified. Have the installer verify pilot-hole requirements and suitable fastening points rather than assuming no-drill installation. Check behind the mounting surface for wiring, sensors and concealed equipment, and maintain appropriate exhaust heat clearance.

Keep lights, reflectors and any fitted parking or other rear equipment unobstructed. Check any tow-hitch access or movement where fitted. Verify secure retention, tailgate operation and required vehicle functions before driving. Do not use the diffuser as a lifting point or assume structural impact protection.
