2026 Land Rover Defender: New Lighting, Bigger Screen, and a Confirmed EV Variant
Land Rover has revealed a series of updates for the 2026 Defender, spanning the Defender 90, 110, and 130 body styles. While the changes are deliberately subtle, they add a bolder edge to one of the most recognizable off-roaders on the market - and Land Rover has also confirmed a fully electric Defender variant is now in development. What's New Across the LineupEvery 2026 Defender - across all three body lengths - gains fresh LED headlight graphics with a stronger new light bar, along with smoked rear lights for a cleaner, more modern look. Fog lights are now standard across the range, and the front and rear bumpers receive subtle updates alongside a new textured pattern for the hood and side vent trim. Two new exterior colors, Woolstone Green and Borasco Grey, join the palette, and the grille bar is now finished in gloss black with a darkened Land Rover badge.A Bigger Screen and Smarter Off-Road ToolsInside, every 2026 Defender gets a new 13.1-inch center touchscreen - a meaningful jump from the outgoing model's standard 10-inch display (11.4 inches on the upgraded option). The dashboard-mounted gear shifter has been relocated for improved ergonomics, and the center console has been reworked for better space and layout. On the technology side, the Defender adds a driver-facing camera for attention monitoring and a new Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control system for more control across mud, rocks, and sand.Confirmed: A Fully Electric Defender Is ComingLand Rover has confirmed a new Defender model - expected to be called the Defender Sport or Defender 80 - as the second vehicle to launch on the company's EMA platform, which will support both hybrid and fully electric powertrains. The automaker has also reversed an earlier EV-only strategy for the platform, meaning both HEV and BEV Defender variants are now planned for the future. What This Means for Modifying Your DefenderBecause the 2026 updates are concentrated in lighting, trim, and interior technology rather than a structural redesign, most exterior accessories and interior protection products remain compatible across recent Defender model years.Popular Land Rover Upgrades Right Now Custom-fit all-weather floor mats: Available for the Range Rover Evoque, Discovery 4, and other Land Rover models.Browse our full Land Rover collection.
